Assam State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Syllabus 2014

Government of Assam will conduct the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) on 16 Nov, 2014 to appointment of various lecturers in various colleges and universities. Syllabus and Exam pattern for year 2014 are following. 

Assam SLET Exam Syllabus 2014: 


Each subject has three papers. Syllabus of some subjects for SLET Exam 2014 is mention bellow: 

1. Anthropology 

A. Paper – I: General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude 
B. Paper –II: 
i. Introduction 
ii. Evolution 
iii. Fossils 
iv. Human Genetics 
v. Chronology 

vi. Typo-technology and Palaeolithic Cultural Features 
vii. Holocene Culture 
viii. Evolution, Social Structure and Organisation '
ix. Economic and Political Organisation : Religion and Magic 
x. Indian Anthropology : Basic Concepts and Issues 

C. Paper –III: 
i. Unit– I: Theories of Evolution 
ii. Unit– II: Distribution, Characteristics, Classification, Position of Man in animal kingdom. 
iii. Unit– III: History and Development, Concept, Scope and Emerging trends - Relation to other sciences and medicine. 
iv. Unit– IV: Red cell Enzymes, Techniques for Biochemical Analysis 
v. Unit–V: Environmental Archaeology, Cultural Ecology, Action Archaeology 
vi. Unit– VI: Earliest Cultures (Primitive Hunter - Gatherers) 
vii. Unit–VII: Final Hunter-Gatherer and Incipient Cultivators (Mesolithic Cultures) 
viii. Unit–VIII: The Meaning and Nature of Culture, The contribution of E.B. Tylor 
ix. Unit–IX: Contribution to social-cultural anthropology 
x. Unit–X: Weaker section in Indian population

Assam SLET Exam Pattern 2014: The test will include three papers containing objective type questions. Details are following: 
  • Paper –I will contain 60 questions out of which 50 question to be attempted. Each question has equal mark of 2. 
  • Paper –II will contain 50 compulsory questions of 100 marks. 
  • Paper –III will contain 75 compulsory questions of 150 marks.
